never doubt i love
Shakespeare gave us Julia's admonition, "They do not love that do not show their love."

This is my contribution to the course of true love.
Some words are from my love letters, some sent and some not.
I hope to post a new piece every few weeks.
the day
Unspoken

What was never said overtly
Our deeds spoke clearly

The sacrifices that you made
While other ones played
Spoke louder than the braggers boast
For life we're engrossed

By six culture had it muted
For men it's unsuited

Your reasons different than mine
Peace was on the line
With parents absent or fighting
Its goal uniting
Yet the word absent of the truth
Enduring as youth

How did you come through so much strife
Instilling love of life
Watching and listening I've learned
Life's lessons you've discerned
Honesty, integrity
Shown with clarity
It's what you do that leads the way
Not what you say

Though I never said it to you
It's always been true
We speak with a handshake goodbye
A look in the eye
It's more important felt than heard
The unspoken word

Uninvited Guest

What is this love that walks beside me?
An uninvited guest calling at the most inappropriate time?
Do you not see I am content without you?
Still you come in while I stand guard.

Yes love, you are quite a strange creature.
Some mythical being I've only glimpsed in the past.
Do you really exist?
Love, Passion, Intellect, Wit all formed into one?

No! You can't be.
You must be an aberration.
Something conjured up and projected on an unsuspecting dove.
I shall banish you and rid myself of this delusion.

Ah, but you persist.
Conversing in an unfamiliar language
Thoughts and ideas alien to my being
How could you be born of my mind?

Or might you, love, be a gift from the gods?
If I deny you, do I risk their ire?
Pain and agony to follow or worse?
My heart set adrift in a void for eternity?

Fine then,
Walk beside me.
Be my friend, Be my lover,
My critic, my foe.
You are the heart of my soul.

Fusing Elements

Smoke Fire Water & Light
Our creative world's burn through the night

Fusing Breaking Melting Scratching Images away
      Exploring uncharted worlds this way

Connecting Collaborating Uniting Linking new forms
          Our energies creating passion storms

Trusting Believing Sharing Relying our connection
              Nurturing seeds from inception

                Free Repress Present Past
                  Future is what we cast

Desire

It was not the sun that gave me this thirst,
But the flames of desire you lit late last night.

A palette of flavors so rarely joined,
Sprung from your lips, your breasts, your alluring mind.

The fragrance of moist skin, firm form, swift wit,
Flood my senses with savor I can't forget.

Desire draws me to your well once more,
Trying to quench my thirst, my body in yours.

Yet moments after I leave this embrace,
My mouth is dry, my thirst returns, I must have more.

The Day

The best day of my life
    has already been.
   Before I am done
 it will happen again.

                 Throughout our lives
we are bound to have many.
              They seem to surprise us
when we think we won't have any.

                           So when I am alone
                    and can reflect without strife.
I find the day we met
was one of the best of my life.
